The "shaka" or "hang loose" gestured hand comes to us from Kailua Kona, Hawaii. Carved from genuine Monkey Pod, a large, tropical flowering tree. This style and wood choice was common from the 1950s to the 70s. This sculpture is in excellent condition and can be used for jewelry or in a wood and brass grouping.
